In any case, my error was documented there, and this is what it said about it: I'm not sure what the original source is, but it seems to have been a backup of some Sony documentation, possibly an older version of the troubleshooting page I mentioned earlier. The only other helpful and relevant thing that I found was a forum post on a Greek website detailing a bunch of Vita errors. Unfortunately, I never activated multi-factor authentication on my account in the first place, so that solution did not apply to me. Well I'm glad for those people that they found a workaround, even if it's a dumb one. How did this got through quality assurance? And for those wondering, no, Sony never fixed this. #Resogun vita error download#Yes, you read that right: if your PSN account is too secure, you can't download your purchases. disabling multi-factor authentication of the associated PSN (PlayStation Network) account. Every thread I found listed the working solution as. What was clear was that I was not alone with this issue, and I found multiple forum threads discussing the same issue I was experiencing. Problem is, NP-9968-2 is not even listed there. Sony provides a troubleshooting page where PlayStation error codes can be looked up for more information. Truly, the most helpful and descriptive error message ever. #Resogun vita error software#Whenever I would attempt to download any purchased software from the PlayStation Store to my Vita, the following error would occur instead: (Spoiler alert: it's Sony's fault.) The problem This is the story of how I resolved the issue, without resorting to hacking. Even stranger, reinstalling local backups of deleted Vita software was working perfectly fine, but not when redownloading said software from the PlayStation Store again. No issues whatsoever with my PlayStation 3 nor my PlayStation 4, but for some bizarre reason the Vita would always fail. I could make new purchases from the PlayStation Store, but the download would always fail, and only on my Vita. #Resogun vita error install#Resolving Playstation Vita Error Code NP-9968-2įor about 2 years, I was not able to install any new software on my PlayStation Vita, for seemingly no reason. #Resogun vita error free#Great value free content too.Ĭons: The game still isn’t good at explaining itself, which can put off new players.Resolving Playstation Vita Error Code NP-9968-2 | Guillaume Fortin-Debigaré Pros: Both the new game modes are great, with Commando being a fun break from the norm and Protector arguably better than the standard play mode. In Short: An excellent expansion to what remains the PlayStation 4’s best exclusive, and one of the most enjoyable retro shooters of the decade. You might say that much of that is still owed to Defender, and the other ’80s coin-ops it riffs on, but the one thing Resogun proves is that a good game is a good game – no matter what its origins or age may be. We’d already heartily recommend Resogun to any PlayStation 4 owner (it’s also on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita but Defenders is not) but this final surge of content is just enough to push it over the line into true classic status. The new game world is by far the most visually interesting so far, with erupting volcanoes and more enemies on-screen than seems physically possible – especially as the game maintains a steady 60 frames per second throughout. You can also unlock the ability to carry more than one human at a time and gain automatic defences for the cities. The other change is simply that everything has been turned up to 11: your overdrive weapon and the speed boost now recharge much more quickly, and there are new ‘super’ versions of both to collect. The basics are the same as the main mode, but as well as rescuing humans you have to help build a base for them, and make sure new giant-sized enemies don’t knock it down. It’s Protector that’s the real star of the show though. Despite the fact that you’re a little neon-coloured human running and jumping along the ground the controls are still similar to the standard Resogun modes, and the whole thing works surprisingly well. The end result is more like a cross between Space Invaders and Missile Command than Defender, as you shoot up at descending spaceships and asteroids. It follows very much the same procedure as Heroes, not only in that it adds two new game modes but that one of them sticks fairly closely to the original gameplay and the other is a lot more experimental.Ĭommando is the weird one, in that it has you controlling an actual human (yes, he does have an Austrian accent), rather than the spaceship flying around trying to save them. Released at the same time though is Defenders, intended to be the last paid-for DLC for the game.
